Youth
Who we are
As the divison of the Muslim American Society (MAS) that deals with young people, we identify ourselves as a movement of American Muslim youth and young adults who responded to Allah’s (God’s) call, echoed in the message of the prophet Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon him:
There should always be among you some people who invite to what is good, enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong; they are the ones to attain felicity. Quran [3:104]
To fulfill this responsibility, we urge the youth and young adults to strive to learn, understand [1], apply [2], spread [3], and advocate [4] Islam and its values, solutions and systems in the service of the common good.
Our Vision
MAS Youth as a division of MAS is giving roots, nurturing, and establishing organized and efficient, movement oriented, Islamic work amongst all segments of youth based on the comprehensive understanding of Islam.
Our Mission
To develop, through knowledge and practice, committed Muslim young men and women capable of spreading and giving root to the comprehensive understanding of Islam, and to prepare them to be at the forefront in the development of their communities.
Our Audience
Our audience is young people who reside in the United States of America (citizens, immigrants, workers, students, etc) regardless of ethnicity, place of origin and religion; and who are in the age group equivalent to the high-school stage, college stage and young professional stage. A young professional is someone who is starting his post graduate life.

Footnotes
[1] Understanding Islam: we are constantly trying to improve, refine, broaden, and deepen our understanding of Islam in order to be good examples, good messengers, and good advocates of Islam in the current context.
[2] Living Islam: we are constantly trying to live Islam in its totality, by strengthening our connection with Allah, renewing our iman/faith, purifying our souls, perfecting our worship (ibadah), and aligning everything we do (all aspects of life) with the teachings of Islam. That is self-purification and self-development, and that is how we develop viable models of Islamic life at all levels (individual, family, community, and society)
[3] Spreading Islam: we believe in the obligation of presenting Islam to others (dawah), because Islam is Allah’s last and universal message. It was sent to all people at all times; and it is the duty of every Muslim to present the message of Islam.
[4] Advocating Islam: we also believe in the obligation of enjoining good and forbidding evil. “I only desire your betterment to the best of my power” [Quran 11:88] and therefore contributing to a better society and better world. This is because we believe that Islam serves the best interests of all people in this life and in the hereafter. So, whatever Allah, the All-knowing and All-Wise, has prescribed is beneficial and whatever He has forbidden is harmful.
